How-To: Empty the Beer Line On Your Floating Tap
Best Practices the Smoothest Pour
We hope you’re enjoying delicious beer, wine, or coffee served from Summit’s innovative floating tap. Because of this tower’s unique design, there will be a trace amount of liquid that may sit in your exposed, non-refrigerated tubing in between serving. This can cause your beer (or other beverage) to come out foamy in your next pour. When you are done serving, we recommend following the instructions below to empty the keg line of residual liquid:
- Shut off the CO2 tank’s valve
- Close the coupler
- Disconnect the beer line hose from the coupler
- Place the beer line hose inside a receptacle (such as a small glass) large enough to hold an ounce of liquid
- Open the tower faucet to allow air to pass through the hose and empty the remains inside the line
- When you’re ready to use the kegerator again, remember to reconnect the beer line to the coupler, open the coupler, and reopen the CO2 tank’s valve
